Lavandula multifida

 

Description: Shrub to 100cm, stems grey with woolly hairsand sometimes also with long straight hairs. Leaves mostly 2-pinnatisect, green, sparsely densley hairy. Spike 2-7cm; bracts about 5mm, heart-shaped to ovate, acuminate; verticillasters 2-flowered. Calyx about 5mm, 15-veined; upper tooth without an appendage. Corolla about 12mm, blue-violet.



Poison: None Known

Uses: Cultivated as an ornamental. An infusion of flowering branches is used against coughs in Morocco and in Lybia for various childrens ailments.

Distribution: Algeria,  Egypt,  Italy,  Libya,  Morocco,  Portugal,  Sicily,  Spain,  The Canary Islands,  Tunisia,
